Crossroads Farm is thrilled to announce some of the Ironman kids had their first outing for Hunter Breeding. Iron Legend won the yearlings. Inchanted won the 2 year olds and was Reserve Champion Best Young Horse. Ironrule won the 3 year olds and was Best Young Horse. Titulus won 2 level 3 classes and was champion. Crossroads Farms three year old colt, Ironrule won his class and was Best Young Horse for Hunter Breeding at the second April Ledges held at Sporting Horse Show complex in Roscoe, Illinois.
Crossroads Farm is proud to report that this weekend we took 10 horses to a show, one of which was Titulus, Les Elevages Mallet Barsalous gorgeous Trakehner stallion. This was his second show as a jumper. He jumped the 3'6" division, flawlessly, never touched a rail. He recieved 2 seconds and a third and ended up Reserve Champion! One of the Ironman offspring was a coming three year old filly, India, who never batted an eye at anything and behaved like a veteran. She won a couple of classes, and recieved ribbons in every class she was in. John Klink brought his coming four year old Ironman son, Iceman who had jumped 5 times prior to the show. Iceman jumped around courses like a pro, with lead changes! He recieved good ribbons, won a class and was Reserve Champion. The third one, Indelible is destined for the jumper ring, but as she had jumped 1 time recently before the show, we opted to do Hunters. She showed us she easily could have done the Jumpers by jumping every fence a foot or two higher! She too never looked at a jump. It was really a thrill because I saw these offspring as foals, saw them grow up, and now they are starting their show careers. I was amazed how all of them have their dads work ethic, and how easy they are to train, just like their sire. And just like their sire, all of them are naturals when it comes to jumping and lead changes. Ironmans kids did him proud.
Crossroads is proud to announce that Titulus has started his show career, and very sucessfully at that! We took him to his first show in January where we decided to show him in the Hunters as preperation for the jumpers. We were thrilled as Titulus won 2 classes and was Champion. Then he attended his first jumper show where he won a class and was Reserve Champion. Next he attended Ledges A show in the Jumpers and placed in all his classes, he jumped so well, we moved him up to a schooling class where he recieved a second. He jumped in fantastic form and very carefully. His next show will be April Ledges.
Hopeful Farm Sport Horses wishes to congratulate Christine Parks on her purchase of French Kiss HF by Freestyle, out of Replikah HF by Regulus.
Hillside H Ranch would like to congratulate Brandie Holloway of Equi-Venture Farms on the purchase of our VDL Indoctro x Princess Queenie (Phantom/Polydor) colt born 3/10/08! Brandie purchased this special guy in-utero and we wish them the best of luck. Hillside H Ranch will be keeping this colt's full sister, born 2/6/08
Hopeful Farm Sport Horses wishes to congratulate Susan Burkhardt of Illinois on her purchase of Regal Champion HF, sired by Routinier, out of our Oldenburg mare La Championita HF. Regal Champion HF was a premium foal at his Oldenburg Verband inspection.
Crossroads Farm is thrilled to announce that our two year old colt, Ironrule (by Ironman) is 4th in the U.S. for Hunter Breeding in his age group, he is also USEF Zone 6 Champion, IHJA 2 year old Champion and as well Rule is PHR Silver Stirrup Zone 6 Champion and is ranked third nationally on the PHR Hunter Breeding list.
Dream Street Stallion's Starlight, swept the top honors for a breeding stallion at the United States Dressage Federation’s annual awards banquet hosted in Orlando, Florida last week. Starlight’s score was the highest median score ever recorded! Starlight also won the USDF All-Breeds Mature Stallion 'Horse Of The Year', the German Oldenburg Verband Mature Stallion 'Horse of the Year' and the German Oldenburg Verband Dressage Sport Horse Breeding 'Horse of the Year' and Res. Champion in the Open Prix St. Georges for the German Oldenburg Verband.
Crossroads Farm is thrilled to announce that our stallion Ironman is #1 in the U.S. for Hunter Breeding Sires! Son Ironrule attended the Thanksgiving Lake St Louis show and won his two year old clas and was also Best Young Horse.
Crossroads Farm is thrilled to welcome Les Elevages Mallet Barsalous’ wonderful stallion, Titulus to the U.S. He will be standing at Crossroads Farm for the 2008 season. Titulus will also begin his jumper career with us, and after having seen him jump, I am predicting a very successful career. Titulus is a very modern type, a fantastic stallion for U.S. breeders for Jumpers, Eventing and Dressage. He has a very good temperament, excellent conformation, fabulous jump, overall, he has many of the characteristics of our flagship stallion, Ironman, but in a very different package. It was a difficult and painful decision for his wonderful owners let him go for the year, but it was decided with Titulus huge fan base in the U.S., this would give many of the mare owners a chance to see him in person both at home and at shows. It will also be easier for Titulus to get his jumper career going as in this area, shows run 12 months a year. Another bonus was the fact that we have access to a clinic with a fabulous repo department and one of the top repo vets around. Titulus will be standing from March 1rst through October first.
Congratulations to Borderline Farm's Coronado for winning the 2007 RPSI 30-day stallion test!
Little Bit Farm is very proud to report that, at the 2007 Sporthorse Stallion Performance Test at Paxton Farm, our three-year-old ISR/Oldenburg stallion Rashka (Raymeister x Tashka/Opus) not only won the 30-Day Short Test, but earned the highest score in the history of U.S. stallion testing, and possibly even in all European testing as well with 164.86! Although Rashka is still maturing physically at 16.3 hands, his innate talent for both dressage and jumping was more than apparent. He won both the jumping and dressage indexes: jumping 153.80; and the highest stallion test dressage index ever achieved, 175.34; including a “10” canter from all the judges. Rarely does a youngster of three display so much natural aptitude, along with a sweet temperament, the willingness and desire to learn and work, and such a high degree of natural up-hill connection. Training Leader, Helmut Schrant, gave Rashka all 9's for character, temperament, ability to work, willingness to work, canter, and rideability. With each of the guest riders, Rashka displayed a work ethic and desire to please that belied his youth and earned him four 9's and an 8 for rideability. Rashka has all the attributes of a true champion.
Rashka is the latest success story for Little Bit Farm and Ken Borden, Jr. For the past two years, we have been the #1 USDF DSHB Breeder of the Year. Our robust breeding program has produced Rashka's sire, dam, grand sire, grand dam, and a great grand dam. We owned his sire, dam, both grand dams, two great grand dams, and a great, great grand dam; so we have these bloodlines still at our disposal. We have not only siblings to Rashka, for whom we have high hopes, but also other lines of international quality, approved stallions, and HOY winners, including those from our foundation stallion, Rashka's grand sire Opus. Our quality is at today's high standard because of Ken's careful attention to combining the best characteristics and pedigrees, and because of the very hands-on approach he takes to the management and training of his horses. This includes his commitment to bringing his stallions to the 30-Day Performance Test so that he can remain intimately involved in their progress.
As proud as we are of our own horses, we think the growth and success of Little Bit Farm's breeding program is simply a reflection of the dedication to excellence of many fine breeders across placeNorth America. The proof is in stallions of the quality of Rashka, and the mares that produce them. Horses being bred in this country are of international quality, and it is time to recognize that “Buy American” can have an equine intention. Talent, temperament, and character second to none are available right here in our own backyard.
