(Rohdiamant - Furioso II)
16.1H black Oldenburg stallion
Foaled in 1996 in Germany and bred by Heinrick Lahmeyer, who was also the breeder of the licensed Oldenburg stallion Harvard, Rodioso was off to a good start by being in such experienced hands.
In November 1999, Rodioso was presented to the Oldenburg Verband for his stallion license. He was awarded a '10' on character, a '9' on conformation, and '8's on temperament and ridablity... showing the tractability and generosity the Rubinstein line is famous for. Rodioso was expertly prepared for his 100 days performance test by Ulli Henschke and his wife Birgit Wellhausen-Henschke. He passed his performance test in February, 2001 and was, after some further training, exported to the United States by Dr. Jan Williams of Coyote Run Farm in Massachusetts
In the summer of 2004 Rodioso was acquired by Rodioso Ventures LLC and moved to the Seattle area. He stands at Derby Farms in Woodinville, Washington. In 2005 his show career continued at 4th level with great success under Pamela Pentz placing 3rd with Oldenburgs in the USDF Horse of the Year at 4th level. His in-hand career also continued with even greater success. He placed 1st in Oldenburg Stallions in the USDF All Breeds Horse of the Year and placed 4th over all in the Open Horse of the Year for Sporthorse Breeding. He was named Grand Champion Stallion for the Pacific Northwest Series for the Cosequin/USDF in-hand finals.
In the winter of 2006 Pam and Rodioso began a wonderful relationship with USET rider Jan Ebeling. Mr. Ebeling has been multiple Intermediate I USA national champion and in 2003 the anchor rider for the USET Team Gold at the Pan American games. Mr. Ebeling is a protege of the great German dressage master Herbert Rehbein. Rodioso spends his winter months in Moorpark, California in training with Jan Ebeling at his facility The Acres. His regular rider and co-owner Pamela Pentz takes a good part of the winter months to train along with Mr. Ebeling and Rodioso. He is currently competing at PSG/I1.
