Boasting a pedigree of award-winning, imported English and Irish sires and dams, Willow Boy encapsulates the attributes of simply the finest ponies found throughout the Emerald Isles. Not only is his sire, the late, *Chiltern Colm, imported from the U.K., he was an American Connemara Pony Society TOOREEN LADDIE AWARD RECIPIENT for a lifetime of positive breed influence. Willow Boy's paternal grandsire, Corrib was awarded PREMIUM STALLION status by the English Connemara Pony Society (ECPS) as was Island Duke (sire of Chiltern Gazelle-paternal granddam) as was also Willow Boy's maternal grandsire, the Irish foundation stallion, Thunderbolt.
Three of the mares in the first four generations of Willow Boy's pedigree were awarded the selective and extremely prestigious SUPER PREMIUM MARE status by the ECPS. They are: Chiltern Gazelle (dam of Chiltern Colm); Artic Moon (dam of Chiltern Gazelle); and Errisbeg Rose (daughter of MacDara). This blend of Irish and English breeding with such prestigious ponies so "close-up" in a pedigree is indeed a rarity.
