Don Principe is a fully licensed and approved Hanoverian. Bred by Hans-Heinrich and Adelheid Bruning, this impressive son of Donnerhall, is out of a States Premium dam by Prince Thatch xx/Durkheim. Donnerhall was the DLG Champion in 1986, winner of more than 65 dressage competitions up to Grand Prix with Karen Rehbein. Known for throwing his superb character, temperament, and willingness to work, Donnerhall offspring are successful in sport the world over. Prince Thatch xx is the sire of many high priced auction horses in Verden. High ridability, correct confirmation and rhythm is the hallmark of this wonderful typey stallion. Prince Thatch xx ranks #9 on the VhW list in Germany.
First foal crop arrived in 2004. Don Principe passed his approvals in 2003 having been awarded several "9"s and above. Don Principe was shown as well and had the honor of winning his dressage suitability class over, among many others, another approval winner. Don Principe was 4th at the USEF/Markel National Young Horse Championships in 2005 in the 6 year old class. A competition as well as breeding career is planned for this wonderful stallion. Don Principe took home top honors at the MSEDA Breed Show at the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday, September 10, 2005. He won his stallion class, Stallion Championship, Mature Horse Champion and Grand Champion. Don Principe recieved an impresive 83.75% from judge Ann Gribbons. Don Principe won the Adios II Perpetual Trophy at the MSEDA Breed show September 10, 2005 at the Kentucky Horse Park. This trophy is given tot he highest/placing/highest scoring Hanoverian in the breed show.
Don Principe debuted in 2006 at Prix St. George and was highly successful with scores in the mid to upper 60s. Many ties being the youngest competitor at 7 yrs old.
Don Principe is the sire of several highly ranked USDF Horse of the year winners. Including Don Regale MF 2006 USDF Champion Horse of the Year.
