(Secretariat - Mr. Prospector)
1988 Thoroughbred stallion
Bay 16.2 hands
Approved - ISR Old/N.A.
Nominated to the International Hunter Futurity
Innkeeper is a beautifully bred son of the legendary Secretariat. His dam line is even more impressive. His mother, Sue Babe produced amongst others, Sir Harry Lewis, Horse of the Year in Ireland and multiple graded stakes winner, Sir Richard Lewis. Innkeeper was sold as a yearling at the famous Keenland Select sale in Kentucky for 1.25 million dollars. He was only lightly raced. As a two year old, he beat Kentucky Derby winner, Strike the Gold and won his only start as a three year old. From his small racing crops he had quite a few winners and at one point had a national ranking as a second crop sire. Because of this, he still gets a few race breedings each year.
Above and beyond this, he is a stunningly beautiful horse. He has plenty of bone and substance, combined with the elegance of a thoroughbred and a mahogany bay coat that shines with a metallic hue in the sun.
Innkeeper is the consummate athlete. He has been a racehorse, a show hunter, an event horse and now he plays around in dressage. He is a lovely elastic mover, with a big trot and a huge gallop stride like his father. He is charming and incredibly sane! He is safe enough to put a child on and on occasion he is a lesson horse for nervous, beginner riders. We have a friend who is convinced that Disney should make a film about him! He will never be sold; he is our family pet and couldn't be replaced for any money.
