16.2h bay Holsteiner stallion
(Rapport - Franat)
Regulus is an ultra-modern, uphill, leggy stallion with a fantastic front end and topline and very correct legs. Three excellent gaits with lots of freedom of shoulder, very good free-jumping. Very intelligent and people-oriented, high rideability, which his get inherit. Grand Champion with 82.5%. Absolutely stellar as sire; out of small crops, Regulus has already produced 3 approved stallions and so far 7 Site Champions at inspections. Roi Soleil D (approved with an 8.1) was USDF Horse of the Year in 2002 and has won 3 Grand Championships (up to 84.5%); now performing in the jumper ring. Raison de Joie D (approved with an 8.1) is 4th in the USDF Horse of the Year rankings, won at Devon, and was Reserve Grand Champion in 2004. Romulus was approved with a 7.5. Reina was National and Regional Foal Champion, other foals won Regional Championships. In 10 Get of Sire classes, 8 wins, 2 places over 5 years.
Regulus’ son Raison d’Etre was on USEA’s 2003 short list for the World Championships of Young Dressage Horses; in 2004, winner at Devon (76%) and 5th in the National Championships for 6-year-old dressage horses. He also participated in the USDF Dressage Symposium in 2004. So far, he is the most successful American-bred horse in the young horse dressage classes. Regulus has produced winners in sporthorse breeding, dressage, hunters, jumpers, and eventing, also really reliable foxhunters. His first daughters have produced outstanding foals. He will reliably improve the front end of any horse, the freedom of shoulder in the gaits and pass on his superb athliticism and rideability.
